Best Story We Have Ever Produced!
Here’s what makes “St Bartholomew’s Eve” Such A Great Story
Huddled in the courtyard of a small chateau, mothers and children cling to each other as they also cling to a fading hope. Weeping. Men stand guard. Waiting.
Outside their walls, government troops prepare a battering ram for their final assault on the Christians of France, known as the Huguenots. 16-year-old Philip Fletcher--who raced from England to France to help his fellow Christians--now realizes the truth: all is lost.
From the darkness, the sweet innocent voice of a little boy sings out with all the bravery he can muster: “A mighty fortress is our God… a bulwark never failing…”
One By One More Voices Come Together
One by one, other voices join in. And now a chorus of voices echoes in the courtyard, pushing back the shadows with the hope of their song: “Christ Jesus, it is He… Lord Sabaoth His Name… from age to age the same. And He must win the battle!”
From the pages of the sixteenth century comes a story as fresh at today’s news:
St. Bartholomew’s Eve.
As you listen, may you be inspired by those who raised their voices to defy the dark realm… “For God and our faith!”
St. Bartholomew’s Eve is the story of a faith that stands strong even against the threat of death. And it’s in this time of extreme testing that the song…
A Mighty Fortress Plays a “Starring Role” !
One of the unlikely “stars” of St. Bartholomew’s Eve is the beloved hymn “A Mighty Fortress.” Penned by the Father of the Reformation, Martin Luther, this stirring theme has been called the “Battle Hymn of the Reformation.”
And, as is the case with many hymns, some of the most powerful verses are the ones we rarely sing. And yet, these verses contain the secret that empowered the Huguenots to courageously face their fears… with faith.
And though this world, with devils filled,
Should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed
His truth to triumph through us.
The Prince of Darkness grim,—
We tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure,
For lo! His doom is sure,—
One little word shall fell him.
That word above all earthly powers—
No thanks to them—abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours
Through him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go,
This mortal life also:
The body they may kill:
God's truth abideth still,
His kingdom is for ever.
The Huguenots found treasure in these truths. Although a demon-filled world may threaten to undo us, we will not fear. Because God has willed his truth to triumph through us! And the Prince of Darkness is eternally doomed by the power of the Name!
The Huguenots knew that even though their enemies would slay them, God’s truth would abide forever. And they themselves would abide forever in his kingdom.
“It’s educational, it’s interesting, and it makes history exciting!”
“Heirloom Audio has brought history to life!”
“Heirloom Audio productions are wonderful, simply wonderful.”
St Bartholomew’s Eve kept our children engaged and taught them about keeping the faith under persecution. It also taught them about a time period that we as Americans know very little about. This production made us thankful for the time period we live in.
We enjoyed the “edge-of-your seat” action and being to actually be there throughout the story.”
- Jaime Maly
I love that my children are learning Christian world view and history at the same time. Heirloom Audio Productions also help reinforce the morals & ideals we are trying to instill in our children.
- Holly Johnson
I love how it's like an audio movie ... our kids stay engaged all the way through.. We drive a lot, and it's nice to have an audio adventure we can listen to all the way through in one driving stretch.
- Kevin Gibbs
We liked everything, especially how good and evil are portrayed.
- Stephanie Ulmer
I appreciated the story and the historical insights. I didn't know much about the Huguenots or the persecution in France. As always I appreciate the way you introduce heavy, serious, even potential upsetting topics in a way that kids can process and digest without stripping them of their innocence or desensitizing them with reality conveyed in a sensationally brutal way. Well done. And thank you.
- Nichole Kaiser
My husband and I frequently work with persecuted Christians. We are always inspired and encouraged by stories of people who stood for their faith. It gives us confidence that we will be able to do the same. My kids love how visual the audio is because of the amazing acting. They also love the history and are equally in awe of people who stand up for what they believe.
- Barbie Swihart
The folks over at Heirloom Audio Productions are passionate about bringing history to life through dramatic audio stories. Their quest takes them to some amazing places just to accomplish this task. After listening to this, my son says normal audio books may bore him to death!

- Amanda Hopkins
Heirloom Audio had once again given us another movie without the screen! There are all the sounds that are happening, the sounds that bring the story to life.. Based on a G.A. Henty book, this is anything but a book! Follow the same path of the book, but with oh so much more excitement!
